Threads of Identity: Preserving Palestinian Costume and Heritage- Widad Kamel Kawar
OG Khalto Widad did all of us a huge service in documenting the 20th Century history and stories of Palestinian Women Embroiderers. Features photos of Historic Palestine as well as beautiful athwab and other traditional garments and accessories.
It’s a bit pricey ($90-$200) but worth having in your library. You will have to shop around for this one as it’s been out of print until recently.

One of our Go-Tos when we want to learn new motifs. Great images of motifs “in- situ” on athwab as well as stitching diagrams. Regional Origins of most motifs listed. Can usually be purchased for $45-90

A book with many covers over the years. You can totally stitch directly from detailed photos of Regional Chest Panels and Motifs!It also shows regional variations of motifs. Available as a free .pdf from Khalto Widad’s Tiraz Center. Usually available new and used for $40-75.
